This help article explains how to upload and store lease agreements in MagicDoor.

Inside, you'll find:

  • Where to access lease templates from the main menu
  • How to create lease template categories
  • How to upload and annotate blank lease templates
  • How to store signed lease agreements on active leases

Use this article as a reference when setting up lease templates for the first time or attaching signed documents to an existing lease.

Step 1: Navigate to Lease Templates

Start by accessing the lease template section.

  • From the left-side navigation, select Leasing
  • Select Lease Templates

Step 2: Create a Lease Template Category

Categories help organize lease templates by type or region.

  • Click Add New Category
  • Choose how you want to group templates, such as:
    • Residential vs. commercial
    • Single-family vs. multifamily
    • By state, for example Missouri
  • Save the category

Step 3: Upload a Lease Template

Upload a reusable, blank lease to fill out in MagicDoor.

  • Click the blank page within the selected category
  • Drag and drop your lease document
  • Enter a name, for example, "Missouri Residential Lease"
  • Select the type
  • Add a description
  • Click Upload

Once uploaded, the document becomes a reusable lease template.

Step 4: Annotate Lease Templates

Add fillable fields to your templates for future use.

  • Click on any uploaded lease template
  • Add annotations such as:
    • Tenant name
    • Address
    • Other required lease fields

These annotations allow the lease to be sent for signatures later.

Step 5: Store a Signed Lease on an Active Lease

If you only need to store an already signed lease:

  • From the left-side navigation, select Leasing
  • Select Leases
  • Open the specific lease
  • In the lower navigation bar at the top, select Lease Files
  • Click Upload File
  • Drag and drop the signed lease
  • Add a description, for example, "Signed Lease"
  • Click Upload

The document will now be stored and attached to that lease.
